  1. 4K TV

A 4k TV is a television set with a 4k Resolution. that means the television has a 3,800 horizontal pixels and 2,160 vertical pixels, for a total of about 8.3 million pixels. Pixel is the smallest units of a digital image or graphics that can be displayed and represented on a digital display service. Resolution is a term that tells you how densely these tiny dots (pixels) are put together on the display. Individual pixels collect together to make up the image you see on the screen, so the higher the pixel count the higher the resolution. The "K" in 4K stands for Kilo (1000), meaning a TV that has achieved a horizontal resolution of about 4,000 pixels."

4K TVs have four times more pixels than traditional Full HD (1920 x 1080) TVs. Even on TV screens of the same size, the 4K TV picture quality ends up being sharper and detailed thanks to the greater pixel density. This difference is especially obvious in big screen TVs. For example, if you compare the quality of a traditional 65" Full HD TV to a 65" 4K UHD TV, you'll notice a difference in the pixels that make up the screen. For high-resolution TVs, the pixels are smaller than in a lower-resolution TV of the same size, so you can enjoy a more immersive experience without restrictions on viewing distance and watch from up close without noticing the individual pixels.

"When 4K TVs were first introduced, there was not much 4K content to watch. This caused some consumers to hesitate purchasing the TVs. Now there's so much 4K content available that it's no longer an issue with so many bands like Samsung, LG, Royal, Nexus, Hisense, Hisense, Panasonic having 4K TVs.

Currently, there are various forms of 4K content from 4K broadcasting, 4K streaming services, 4K Blu-ray players & discs to even UGC videos filmed with 4K cameras or 4K smart phones. There are approximately 80 channels worldwide that broadcast in 4K (according to Wikipedia), and VoD services such as Netflix, Amazon Prime, Vudu and Rakuten also offer a wide range of contents such as 4K movies and TV series. Plus, if you have a 4K Blu-ray player you can easily purchase and enjoy 4K videos from places. Recently, a lot of people enjoy filming videos using 4K cameras or smartphones with 4K cameras built in and share that content with other users through video sharing platforms such as YouTube and Vimeo. So, feel free to explore whatever catches your interest.

  1. OLED TV

OLED TV is a television display technology based on the characteristics of organic light-emitting diodes (OLED). OLED TV is a different technology than LED TV.

The OLED display is based on an organic substance used as the semiconductor material in light-emitting diodes (LEDs). The display is created by sandwiching organic thin films between two conductors. When an electrical current is applied to this structure, it emits a bright light. Because OLED displays don't require backlighting, they can be thinner and weigh less than other display technologies. OLED displays also have a wide viewing angle -- up to 160 degrees even in bright light -- and use only two to ten volts to operate. OLEDs have extremely thin displays, with the best picture quality of any of the flat-panels. Low power requirements. Very wide viewing angle, contrast ratio of 1.000.000:1. OLED displays outperforms even the best LCD option.

OLED takes movies, tv shows, gaming and sports to a whole different level, packed with 4k Resolution, 8K Resolution in some very high end models and even deeper shades of black you will enjoy every minute of your entertainment.

OLED technology was pioneered at Kodak, by Dr. Ching W. Tang. OLED variations include the FOLED (flexible organic light-emitting display), which promises to bring portable, roll-up displays to the consumer market.

  1. Inverter (Ac/Fridge/Freezer/washing machine/Microwave)

Inverter washing Machine  Inverter Chest Freezer  Inverter Fridge

By now, most people who are shopping for new appliances have heard about inverter technology. However, most probably only have a vague inkling of what this technology is and what it does for home appliances.

Put simply, an inverter is a device that controls the frequency of the incoming electrical current that goes to the appliance, thus consuming less electricity. They also tend to make the appliance more durable as the motor or the compressor is used less.

Let’s start with the basics first. You are probably aware that there two types of electrical currents in use today: Direct Current (DC) and Alternating Current (AC). DC is mostly used for small battery-powered devices, while AC is the one powering the electrical sockets in our homes.

"To better visualize this, pretend that your appliance is a car – except that its gearbox does not have gear levers – only ON and OFF. Imagine driving around in a car that is on park for half of the time but zooms at 100km/h every time you step on the pedal – with no other gear in between. This is incredibly wasteful of gas and will put a great strain on your car’s engine. If we convert this idea back in to the real of home appliances, that means that our appliances are wasting electricity and are overworking their motors.

To improve upon this, home appliance manufacturers introduced inverter technology equipped models to help reduce energy consumption without compromising its performance.

  1. Compressor

A compressor is a device that increases the pressure of a substance (usually a gas) by reducing the volume of the substance.

Compressors are used in many applications, most of which involve increasing the pressure inside a gas storage container, such as: Refrigeration and air conditioners, Rail vehicle operation, Gas turbines, Powering, pneumatic tools, Pipeline transport of natural gas.

The laws of thermodynamics dictate how compressors are able to compress gases. The properties of gases more or less follow the ideal gas law, which relates pressure (P), volume (V), the amount of gas in moles (N) and temperature (T) with a factor R called the universal gas constant. Allowing for deviations in gas behavior, the compressibility factor z is added to the equation to obtain:

PV = zNRT

Simply put, as the volume of a gas decreases, the pressure increases proportionally in order to keep the ideal gas law equation equated.

Ideal compression occurs under isentropic conditions, which means the process is both reversible and adiabatic. The idealized efficiency of a process can be assumed to be isentropic, which allows the efficiency of a compressor to be evaluated. The isentropic efficiency of a particular compressor is the ratio of the work done by an isentropic compressor to that of the actual compressor.

The refrigerator compressor is one of the four main components that makes the refrigerator work. The compressor’s job is to compress and control the flow of refrigerant. The compressor receives low pressure gas from the evaporator and converts it into high pressure gas. As the gas is compressed and the pressure increases, the temperature increases.

You might look at the air conditioning compressor as the heart of the air conditioning system in your car. In essence, the AC compressor performs for the system the same function that your heart does in your body. it provides the circulation of a precious fluid, the refrigerant, through the air conditioning system.

  1. Thermostat

Thermostat is an automatic device for regulating temperature. Thermostats are typically found inside the refrigerator or freezer and have a knob that allows users to adjust the temperature setting, once the user sets the desire temperature, the thermostat maintains that temperature by controlling the flow of electricity to the compressor. If the thermostat is the brain, the compressor is the heart of the operation, responsible for pumping the refrigerant through the coils.

When the air inside the refrigerator is at the desired temperature, the thermostat stops the flow of electricity to the compressor. When the thermostat senses too much heat, it allows electricity to flow, activating the compressor.

In most commercial refrigerators, the thermostat has a capillary tube filled with gas. As the temperature in the fridge increases, the gas expands and pushes on a diaphragm, which operates a set of contacts which in turn operates the compressor.

Below are some prices of refrigerators and freezer prices in the market

  1. Wash Cycle

Wash cycles are the types of programs your washer uses to do its job. They comprise a washing cycle in the beginning, a rest period, a rinse and then a spin to remove the water. Sometimes there are more than one rinse and spin cycle to get clothes extra clean.

Wash Cycle

Most washers have a regular (or normal, or cotton) cycle, a permanent press (also called colors) cycle and a delicate cycle. Some have a hand-wash cycle for ultra-delicate items and a bulky cycle for blankets or pillows.

  1. Horse Power (HP)

Horsepower is the imperial (British) unit of power, now replaced by the watt - the new SI unit. One horsepower is the work done at the rate of 550 foot-pounds per second and it is equivalent to 745.7 watts. Horsepower was first used by James Watt.

Horse-power is used to describe the air conditioner's capacity. The HP rating of an air conditioning system is about the power of the compressor of the AC. In layman's terms, it is how powerful the air conditioner is i.e. how much cooling it can provide.

An air conditioner consists of a condenser, a system of coils and a refrigerant. The condenser compresses the refrigerant and circulates it through a series of coils. In the part of the coils nearest the condenser, the refrigerant is in the liquid state, but at a certain point, it passes through a tiny aperture and turns into a gas. Evaporation is an endothermic reaction that draws heat from the surroundings, so an air conditioner works by sucking the heat out of the surrounding air. The vaporized refrigerant continues back to the condenser, where it turns back into a liquid and begins a new journey through the coils.

The power developed by the condenser is a factor in how efficiently the air conditioner circulates the refrigerant and pushes it through the aperture into the evaporative coils, but it isn't the only factor that determines how well the air conditioner works. The characteristics of the refrigerant and the size and length of the coils are also important. Consequently, rating the air conditioner in terms of the power of its motor is only an approximate representation of its cooling capacity.

Horsepower to BTU/hr

Room size vs AC Size

For the Sake of Comparison

If you want to compare a unit rated in watts to one rated in horsepower, you can convert from one to the other using the conversion factors.

For example, an air conditioner rated for 1.5 hp has a power of just over (1.5 hp x 0.7457kW/hp) = 1.12 kW. A power rating of 3.5 kW, on the other hand, means the motor develops (3.5kW x 1.337 hp/kW) = 4.68 hp.

At Alabamart, we offer varieties of air conditioners and their different horse power on our list below

  1. QLED TV

QLED TV is a Quantum dot LED TV. Quantum dot technology is what makes these types of television differ from conventional LED TVs.

Quantum dots are manufactured nanocrystals that consist of ultra-fine semiconductor materials. The purpose of a quantum dot is to produce different colors of light depending on the size of the particle at that very moment. A larger particle will skew towards appearing as a red color and the smaller the particle the bluer it will appear.

Quanum Dot

Quantum dots are able to emit precise colored light because particle sizes adjust at quantum-level velocities, resulting in accurate and efficient light emissions. This is the main reason why QLED technology is synonymous with tremendous improvements in overall picture quality.

A Quantum processor uses machine learning and AI to upscale lower definition picture content to 4K or 8K quality, giving a greatly enhanced viewing experience. The Quantum processor allows for even more precise control over backlight dimming, greater distribution of brightness and a boost to black detail. This means that the brighter parts of the TV are even brighter, whilst the darker areas of the screen are able to display greater details, giving improved visibility at both ends of the spectrum.

QLED TV  Samsung QLED

QLED TVs take advantage of the many unique characteristics that Quantum dots offer such as ""high luminance"". Luminance refers to how bright a screen looks and that brightness is an important factor affecting other elements of image quality. First, the contrast ratio is naturally improved when brightness is higher. When bright and dark representations of videos and images can be widely expressed, it's known as HDR (high dynamic range). This HDR, which is an essential component of picture quality, is enhanced further providing crisp and rich images.

The effect of brightness on overall color quality is simple. For example, in the red color spectrum there is a range of bright and dark reds, but QLED TVs express this range of colors better. This unique QLED technology, along with other black implementation technologies such as Direct Full Array, provides a completely different picture quality and a more realistic viewing experience compared to non-QLED TVs.

  1. 8K TV

An 8K TV is a TV that has a screen with 7,680 horizontals and 4,320 vertical pixels for a total of approximately 33 million pixels. The "K" in 8K stands for Kilo (1000), meaning a TV that has achieved a horizontal resolution of about 8,000 pixels.

8K TV is the highest resolution TV that has been released recently among UHD (Ultra High Definition) TVs. With four times more pixels than a 4K TV—another type of UHD resolution—8K TVs show a sharper and more detailed picture quality. This is because in 8K TVs pixels are so small they cannot be distinguished even from close up, making highly detailed images a reality.

The resolution in 8K TVs is 4 times higher than that of 4K UHD TVs, and 16 times higher than Full HD TVs. Higher resolution means that there are more pixels that make up the screen. In other words, on the same size TVs, pixels are more densely packed within the same area which allows for a much more sophisticated and realistic image representation. This provides an overwhelming sense of immersion when you watch TV.

The term used to describe the number of pixels in a given area is called PPI (Pixels Per Inch), and naturally a higher PPI number means higher pixel density. Typically, PPI should be at least 50 or more in order to enjoy various kinds of video content. That being said, on a 75" 8K TV the PPI is 117 while on a 4K TV and FHD TV it's 59 PPI and 29 PPI respectively.

All 8K TVs have Upscaling technology, however every TV maker implements their own specific technology to produce 8K-like quality visuals.

In 2019, Samsung 8K TV is introduced with its own specialized 8K AI Upscaling technology. The AI Upscaling technology uses a method that collects and learns a wide variety of content characteristics by type and then stores them in a database. It later uses that database to process similar image types again, making for a much more sophisticated Upscaling process. With Upscaling being so important and various choices available, make sure to compare and choose the best one
